2nd International Conference on Contemporary Issues in Economics
February 20-21, 2025 (Thursday & Friday)
Introduction:
The School of Economics, XIM University, Bhubaneswar, invited unpublished and original research articles from faculty members of colleges, universities, and other institutions, researchers from think tanks and policymaking bodies, and research scholars on contemporary issues in economics. Both theoretical and empirical papers were welcomed. The initiative aimed to bring eminent researchers, PhD scholars, and postgraduate students together to facilitate the exchange of research work and stimulate the free flow of ideas.
Best Paper Award: Outstanding research papers were considered for the Best Paper Award in recognition of their research excellence and contribution to the field of economics.
Poster Presentation: Submissions for the poster presentation session were also invited from students pursuing postgraduate programmes in Economics and PhD scholars at the early stages of their research.
Objectives of the conference:
Provided a platform for showcasing ongoing research work and obtaining valuable feedback.
Facilitated interactions and discussions on emerging issues in economics.
Offered networking opportunities and encouraged collaboration among students, early-career researchers, and senior researchers.

Submission:
Papers
Participants were invited to submit original and unpublished full papers, accompanied by an abstract of a maximum of 300 words, keywords, and at least two JEL classifications, in PDF or Word format
Papers included the names and affiliations of all authors, along with the email ID and phone number of the corresponding author.
Theoretical and empirical papers addressing issues related to the specified topics were accepted for consideration.
Posters (For early-stage PhD Scholars and Postgraduate students
- Early-stage PhD scholars and postgraduate students were invited to submit long abstracts of up to 500 words in PDF or Word format
- The long abstracts clearly outlined the research objectives, methodology, main results, and relevance of the paper.
- Submissions included the names and affiliations of all authors, the programme they were pursuing (postgraduate or PhD), and the email ID and phone number of the corresponding author.

Accommodation
Limited on-campus accommodation was offered upon request, subject to availability, and was chargeable as per the University’s norms. Presenters were required to inform the organisers in advance.
Travel grants
PhD scholars presenting papers were eligible for travel support on a reimbursement basis, subject to the submission of the required supporting documents.
No travel allowance was provided to poster presenters or other attendees.
