B.Sc. Economics (Hons.)
The B.Sc. (Hons.) Economics program offered by School of Economics is a four-year, full-time undergraduate degree that aligns with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. This program provides a Major in Economics and a Minor in Applied Econometrics, amounting to a total of 171 credits spread across eight semesters.
The program is designed to be flexible, allowing multiple entry and exit points, as well as re-entry options, in line with NEP’s provisions. Based on the student’s progression, they can earn different certifications:
- Certificate after completing one year (first two semesters).
- Diploma after two years (first four semesters).
- Bachelor’s degree after three years (first six semesters).
- Bachelor’s degree with honours after completing the full four years (eight semesters), with or without research.
The courses in this program are structured to provide students with a well-rounded academic experience that combines theoretical learning with practical application. The focus is also on developing critical analytical skills and nurturing academic curiosity, equipping students for both further study and professional careers.
M.Sc. Economics
The M.Sc. program offered by the School of Economics is designed to provide cutting-edge knowledge and scope to students to learn advanced technical skills in Economics. These skills which students will acquire will enable them to be competitors in the corporate world as well as in academia at par with the best nationally and globally acclaimed institutions. Graduates here obtain skillsets that allow them to explore and apply the competency in the industry and academia. These were mostly available in just a couple of select academic institutions in India, mostly in and around the National Capital Region of Delhi. School of Economics extends that access to outside that region, combining these with the world-class infrastructure and facilities scarcely available elsewhere in India. The Faculty to nurture those skills are among the best anywhere in the country.
